Søren Gade

Søren Gade Jensen is a Danish politician who has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. Before entering politics, he was a military officer and businessman. Gade served as Defence Minister of Denmark from 2004 to 2010.

At the outset, I would like to convey my heartiest wishes to you on your 70^th birthday. May you live a long, healthy and happy life. 

I take this opportunity to convey that you have been serving India, the largest democracy of the world and a truly multicultural society, with all dedication. India has been a significant player in world affairs. 

You have emerged as one a key figure in international efforts to tackle climate change, terrorism and maritime security. The whole world is benefitting from your wisdom and statesmanship. 

You played an instrumental role in re-energizing India’s multifaceted engagements with the European Union as the 13^th India-EU Summit was held after a four-year gap.

The 15^th India-EU Summit held on July 15, 2020 in virtual format provided a clear roadmap to take India-EU Strategic partnership to the next level. As Chair of the India in the European Parliament, I am looking forward to continuing work for enhancing mutual trust and cooperation and further strengthening our partnership.

Again, allow me to take the opportunity to write to wish you and your family all the best in the years to come.
