Arun Jain

Arun Jain is a Chennai-based Indian industrialist, investor and philanthropist. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Intellect Design Arena Limited. He was also the founder, Chairman and CEO of Polaris Consulting and Services Ltd. He has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by CII and Visionary of India 2014–15 Award.

On my own personal behalf and on behalf of all the organizations that I represent, please let me have the pleasure of wishing you a very Happy birthday as you step into the landmark of the 70s ! We wish you many more years of good health and well being and look forward to your visionary Leadership  steering us towards our collective dream of a strong  and reverberating Bharath that emerges as a superpower across all spheres! 

As an entrepreneur, I have always shared your conviction of “Make in India”. As a graduate Engineer in the 80s, I dreamed  of building world class software that  would power global organizations out of India. This aspiration drove me to team with a few  like minded young professionals – products of the IITs and similar prestigious Colleges in India, to set up Nucleus Software Workshop Ltd in Delhi to service the Financial services sector that needed zero failure software to support its mission critical applications. Soon after, I set up Polaris Software Labs that went on to become a $450m IT Services organization that supported the Global leaders in Financial services , employing 10,000+ IT professionals across multiple locations in India and the world. 

My next vision was to make India the IP Capital of the world by creating Software products and IP assets in India To this end, I ventured out with an IT Products organization – Intellect Design Arena – to build Financial Technology products for the globe. Today, Intellect powers more than 240+ Financial Institutions globally , has won multiple international awards, owns a rich Intellectual Property portfolio and employs 4,000+ professionals. Intellect is proud to be associated with India’s Financial Infrastructure supporting key platforms for institutions such as  RBI, LIC, GeM, NABARD, AMFI and several public and private sector Banks and Financial Institutions in India. We are also proud to be instrumental in delivering some of your visionary projects such as Jan Dan Yojana and DigitalIndia initiative that promote financial and digital inclusion . Adrenalin , an associate Co., powers the human capital management and skills development  for  India’s corporates, especially so for the SME segment, that form the backbone of our Economy 

I am also personally associated with the Nation Building initiatives through forums such as National Software Products Mission (NSPM) sponsored by MeITY , Software Technology Parks of India STPI, NIELIT and as Chief Mentor for the Fintech Center of Excellence established by STPI at Chennai. We earnestly hope to realize your vision of ‘Make in India’ , ‘Startup India’ and skilling Indians by enabling the success of Software Product startups through these initiatives. 

In the social sector, I am associated with Mission Samriddhi as its sponsor. Mission Samriddhi is  a  social impact organization that aims at holistic development of rural India by supporting initiatives in Education, Health & Hygiene, Livelihood and Self Governance.  It is a small step in enabling rural India to achieve ‘Atma nirbharta’ and helping the Panchayati raj structure become a robust engine of governance , growth and development.   Ullas Trust, another initiative of ours is in its 23 year, igniting young minds to pursue their dreams by supporting and mentoring adolescent children in Classes 9-12 pursuing their education in Government / supported schools.
